This is my problem, I have a glass door, the glass is tinted a bit on my shelf and I have trouble when the glass door is closed from about 10 feet away controlling stuff. So would this help me with the problem? I would put this in the shelf.

Any basic IR repeater should work for you. However, the one you mentioned looks like only 1/2 of the solution. There is another piece to it, I believe.

or a RFX-6000 (LI 900 in Europe) Pronto Extender is a nice solution!

I keep all my components in an Oak Cabinet with two 60 cfm fans mounted on the side to blow cooling air across both power amps, and out the back which is open. For IR control, I uses "HOT LINK" (from Smarthome.com) Here is a brief description from the site;

Allows use of an IR remote on equipment that’s behind opaque doors
Enhances remote control performance for up to 6 A/V components
New slim design, side sensors, and 3’ sensor cable allow more flexible positioning
New "Talk-Back" LED confirms receipt of IR commands
If your A/V equipment is housed behind an opaque cabinet door or in a closet, IR remote signals will not be able to reach it. Hot Link Pro solves this problem by routing the IR signals into the closed cabinet or closet. This allows you to keep equipment out-of-sight and out-of-reach of inquisitive little fingers, dust, and dirt. The high sensitivity of the Hot Link Pro receiver can also extend the range of your remotes.
