Hello all
I am considering purchasing as TSU3000. In prep, I have been playing with the PC Editor that lets you build and configure the remote. In my opinion, that feature alone is a big selling point for anyone considering a URC purchase. Anyway, I've found the download area and several interesting files to download. I have sony STRDE935 and found a PCF file for it. However, When I downloaded the file, it appears that the sample file lists the device as CABLE/ABC instead of a Sony Tuner. Can someone confirm what's going on here? I'd expect to see the device listed as at least Sony something. Thanks for the assistance.

All the files here are contributed by members of RemoteCentral. There is no guarantee that the files contain what they say, or that whoever put a PCF together has labelled each device, action, page etc in a meaningful manner, or that all the IR codes work.

I had a look in teh files area and found only one PCF for the DE935. It looks fine to me. The download was Adam-Bursey_pcf.zip.

Yeah ... That's the one. I didn't ask my question very well the 1st time. I found this file by searching for my receiver. When I download and open this file and click the receiver, the "Settings" tab shows Device=Cable, Brand=Abc and Codeset=0041. I would expect to see something like Device=Tuner (or receiver) Brand=Sony and not sure what for Codeset.

I found the FAQ (and also via T+E) was able to extract the downloaded file to just the one device and then import it into a new config for the devices I have. However, I still am confused because it seems like the Pronto PC software either has a bug OR some other situation. Cuz all the devices, no matter what, have the settings I listed above.

I bought one on ebay for my christmas present to myself. So I guess I'll be having lotso time to learn about over the next few weeks. Any help would still be appreciated to the original question.

Thanks

That's because that PCF does not use the internal codes database. All of the codes were learnt.

If you never specifiy an internal database code set, you end up with Cable, ABC,0041.
