So... looks like the Media Center Vaio remote uses parity bits in its cursor codes. Learning a cursor command to the pronto would only work once, and another command had to be sent before you could use that button again. I did tons of reading and searching on here, and finally came up with an idea how to get around it. I had to create two identical devices on the pronto. Each cursor press jumps you to the other device. I then had to learn the 1st cursor up code to the 1st device, and the 2nd to the 2nd device. This way it jumps back and forth between the two and gets around the parity bit issue. Its working great, and its even faster than I thought it would be. Anyway, this post is mainly here to help other Vaoi users like myself that couldnt find any other posts on the subject. Hope it helps someone else! Or for that matter if someone else has a better solution please share!

There was a post awhile ago about editing the registry in media center to disable the parity bit. You might try a search and see if it is applicable to you.
