I have an IR453 with the RF Extender pointing directly at it in my closet. All the other X-10 commands for my blinds, outdoor light & bar lights work fine. The problem is is that sometimes when I give the command for my ceiling fans, they do not turn on always at the same time? I have 2 outdoor ceiling fans in my patio roof. Now the IR453 is plugged into a 3 prong adaptor in my closet which is plugged in the main oulet. The reason being is that I have 2 powerstrips for my home theatre components. So one outlet is a powerstrip and the other one is the 3 prong adaptor with the IR453 plugged into it and a 2nd powerstrip.

Now if I take the IR453 and plug it directly into a regular outlet the lights seem to work fine both go on. But plugged the other way one fan light will go on sometimes.....not both. Do I need one of those X-10 filters maybe?

Yes! I have a similiar setup and I filtered the powerstrip.

Do you have the ir543 or the ir543ah? In either case you want to plug the unit directly in an available socket. You might have to use 2 extenders onf for you av setup the other for the x-10 setup.

I also discovered "RF" interference from my amplifier with the rfx6000 so be careful where you place the RF extender.

Another best option to have is the coupler repeaters (CR234) available at most x10 online centers such as:

It is the IR543....got the numbers backwards. What is the ah? Is it on the unit? I bought it from you guys.......I think I don't need 2 extenders because the components work fine. What is the model of the filter? I think I'll try that first......

Yes it is a IR543. I hit 4 off on the unit and sometimes the IR543 doesn't turn it off from the unit itself. Is the IR543 bad? It was near the receiver and I moved it on top of the DVD but still same problem? I think I need to try a filter? Which one do you recommend?

Thanks.

Here are some, but all the X10 online houses have them. I used the first one the AF100.

You can also go to the x10 forum and search for filtering on that forum to get more answers.
