After all the trouble I had recently with the new firmware update (BTW, I reverted to the prior version, much happier), I wanted to ask if anyone has had any trouble with the newest version of PENG, and if there are any compatibility issues with the older firmware. I know that you need the newest version of PENG to run the new firmware, but I'd think PENG is backward compatible, meaning I can run the newer version of PENG with the old firmware. The new firmware just kept losing codes inconsistently, messed with the labels on my hard buttons, particularly the left one below the screen which is normally labeled "TOOLS", but which I've changed on all screens other than the system screen. In addition, I did not like the changes to the system screen where the functions on the hard buttons are gone (like the TOOLS button) etc. To be honest, I didn't have memory or battery issues and had only limited code learning issues that I successfully worked around. So, the only advantage to me was improved response time and contrast control, but I'll live with it as is until I can test out the next firmware update beyond 3.1.15.
