I have a stand alone DVD/MPEG4 player whose rewind function always behaved erratically when controlled by the original rcu (should toggle from x2/x4/x8/x16/x32, but could start at any of these speeds). I still seem to have the same problem with the learned code on my TSU3000. Now, the problem might lie with the DVD player itself, but I thought I'd check the code with one of you code gurus. The rewind code is as follows:
0000 006D 0024 0000 0155 00AC 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 05EB 0155 0056 0015 00AC

For comparison, I've also included the fast forward and play codes (in that order). These codes function correctly.
0000 0068 0024 0000 0164 00B4 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 062D 0164 005A 0016 00B4

0000 006D 0024 0000 0155 00AC 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 05EB 0155 0056 0015 00AC

If the original remote had the problem, you can't expect the learned signal to be better.

None of those Pronto Hex strings properly represent the repeat part of the signal (the part that distinguishes a long press from a short press). But if all you want is a single duration press, there is nothing else particularly wrong with them.

I think the clean form of that rewind function is:
900A 006D 0000 0001 00FF 58A7
but I don't expect that would behave differently then the version you have.

BTW, can you email a copy of your file to me, and tell me what brand and model DVD that is?

I keep a spreadsheet of many different brand and model DVDs that use NEC1 protocol, device number 0 (as your DVD does). Four of those (An HiMax, a Norcent, a Zensonic, and a Coby) have the save Rew and Fwd functions you posted. But none of them have the same Play function you posted.

John,

Did you receive my email?

Could you please send me the codes for the Zensonic DVD player, either by email or place them here?

Much appreciated
Wyatt.

I got the email. My automated tools are only for CCF files, not PCF files, so I'll need to extract the codes for my spreadsheet one at a time with PENG and IrTool. I haven't gotten to that task yet.

The Zensonic 300 DVD player that I had data on before (which I thought matched two of the three signals you posted) was from a JP1 upgrade at
[Link: groups.yahoo.com]

It is NEC1 protocol, device 0, with the following command numbers:
006 - stop
007 - up arrow
009 - mute
010 - right arrow
011 - down arrow
013 - power
014 - left arrow
015 - Setup
019 - pause
031 - select
031 - play
079 - display/info
081 - menu
084 - fast fwd
086 - f.fwd/next track
088 - rewind
090 - f.rew/prev track

Those can be converted to Pronto Hex using the MakeHex program.

It actually matches all three of the signals you posted. My automatic comparison was fooled by the fact that the JP1 upgrade has an entry for "select" and another entry for "play", but they're the same command number. I didn't realize that until I extracted the above list from that JP1 upgrade today.
