Hi, I would be most grateful if someone could help me to understand what I need to do to control X10 lights on my TSU 7000. I live in UK, and I understand that European model ( RU 980) operates on different RF frequency from my TSU 7000, and I therefore cannot input X10 codes directly into it. Is this correct?
If so, I understand that I can get IR to X10 converter, which sounds fine, but how would I teach TSU 7000 to send X10 codes in infra red ?
Hope somebody can help, many thanks in advance...
Dan

There is something called the instruction manual that will explain this. and being a newbie get familiar with the forum searches. It will find what you are looking for instantly, and you do not even have to wait for someone to answer.
I always search first, then post. Sometimes it is hard to decipher through all the pages, but more than likely you will find what you are looking for.

I'm not familiar with the European model number subleties but the latest model of the IR7243 will respond to the X-10 IR codes in the TSU7000 database. These will only work for a single housecode. It will also respond to the IR543AH codeset. These support all housecodes. CodeGen™ will generate the IR543AH codeset. You can d/l CodeGen™ from [Link: mbx-usa.com]. You can also send the RF protocol codes via IR to a Powermid which will repeat them as 433.92MHz RF. CodeGen™ also has these codes. See [Link: mbx-usa.com]. The IR7243RF also responds to the RF codes. You can retune its RF receiver to 418MHz and control it directly with the TSU7000. Search here - there was a thread last week on this.

Many thanks for your advice, much appreciated, I still have not purchased IR converter, as I was not sure what is the best option for TSU 7000. I only want to control 2 sets of lights in my home cinema room, so simplest solution would be the best...
Again, many thanks, will look it all up.

If you purchase the IR7243RF from Laser Systems, you may be able to get them to tune it to 418MHz for you. I know they have the equipment and necessary skills (Kwong Li is a licensed radio ham.) but you'll need to check with them. Of course, you can send IR to it as well.

Hope you dont mind me asking, I have RF remote operated screen for projector, which also uses 433.92 frequency. Is there a way to " capture" RF remote code into TSU 7000, who will then transmit IR to powermid then RF to Screen? Thanks! Dan

Your response implies that you can't send RF direct from the Pronto Pro NG. You would have to have a converter. I found a member in the UK who claims that he can send RF direct from his RU950 to his X10 transceiver without a converter. I have a TSU7000 bought in the US. Can you send codes direct from the TSU7000 to my X10 transceiver?

The 950 uses the same RF frequency as the European RF to X10 transceiver, and can control the transceiver directly.
The frequencies are different in the U.S. and it cannot be controlled directly. It is simplest to just get an IR to X10 transceiver such as the IR543-AH.
