I thought I explained and convinced you last time.
More than 4 unique time intervals is NOT a no-no.
More than 4 unique time intervals automatically
switches to a different internal encoding system
which has a much smaller capacity for total number
of burst pairs. I forget both limits but the
results here indicate that 29h burst pairs is
still short enough for that shorter limit.

I don't recall your saying anything other than there was an absolute limit on the number of unique frames. Anyway, I wouldn't put much faith in changes made at the ProntoEdit level. They may or may not reflect what happens with the firmware.

If PENG doesn't destroy the signal, I share your lack of faith in what the firmware will do.

When the length is too long, (based on the limit that depends on the number of unique durations), PENG destroys the signal beyond reconstruction (nothing is stored in the PCF from which the lost data could be reconstructed). In those cases, I have total faith that the firmware won't send the original (too long) signal.

When is CodeGenPro going to be available? I would like to get a copy when it is.

As soon as people stop posing interesting problems that distract me. ;)

I hope it will be released before Monday.

Sorry Dave... I always come up with some fun ones... That was cool though. I just got my 56k remodulator today, so now my cable box works with my IR system. I can now close my cabinets. Yea! Now as soon as I get the rest of my house wired with speaker cable and cat5e, I can finish my Whole House System. I currently have one zone (on the back deck) working. Now I can control the volume on it with the same buttons as I use in the HT. I love hi-tech junk... My wife calls me Marlin (as in the movie Finding Nemo). I'm always asking her if she likes it really likes it...

Anyways, hurry up with that codegenpro!

Thanks,
Mark

Interesting thread to learn stuff from!!! But every new piece of knowledge brings new questions.

I noticed in the thread and in learned codes from my JVC DVD XV-S500BK something I can't explain. here's the power toggle code:

0000 006D 0001 0011 0140 00A2 0014 003D 0014 003D 0014 003D 0014 003D 0014 0014 0014 003D 0014 003D 0014 003D 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003D 0014 0014 0014 0315

According to "previously learned lessons" ;~), the one-time sequence (word 3) would be just one burst pair? Funny thing is all my JVC learned codes are like this.

Currently, I have to press 1-2 secs for the codes to work on this device. I was going to insert a one time sequence to see if it helped any, but I realize I better understand what is going on first.

So gurus, what about this 1 burst pair in the JVC one time sequence?
