Lowpro,
If you converted 1,000 covers in the 113x153 size
how much memory would you use up in a TSU 7500
just on covers?

Sorry for the non-response on this Glendagary. It hurt my head to even begin thinking about it at the time you posted this. I suggest using my current PCF to get a quick idea how much memory 1,000 DVD covers at this size would take up in your remote. I have at least 250 pages in my current PCF which contain DVD cover related images filling each page. As such, load my PCF in the emulator for your TSU7500 to first see how much memory is available, then delete all of my DVD Juke (Index) and DVD Juke (Submenu) devices running the emulator again to determine how much memory is freed up in the remote. This should give you a rough idea. Keep in mind however, that you'll need to save each DVD cover image as optimized for space as possible as I have done in my PCF. Otherwise your guess'timate will be way off.

For several months I've been without a projector. My X1 went belly up after over 4000 plus hours on the bulb. Both the bulb and the color wheel went up on the darn thing! The projector is no longer under warranty either. It's been a real drag not having a projector to say the least. Recently I acquired an InFocus SP4805 however. It's working out well so far.

My PCF has been updated accordingly. My DVD disc count has also increased slightly with this lastest PCF. I'm now at 1,402 DVD discs with 198 slots left in my 4th changer. :-P

*Update on July 24th.*
Since original posting this reply I've updated my PCF yet again. This latest update improves things on the back end regarding activity based macro selection. To read more and to download just hit up the link in my signature area below.

Glad to hear your back up and running. I see you have some catchin' up to do (Now Playing). Now, grab some popcorn, dim those lights, get comfy (favorite chair), and enjoy once again the magic of the movies! :-)

Lowpro -

I've converted all of my 8-bit bmp DVD jacket covers images to PNG. I wanted to ask if there was an easier way of replacing the old images with the new in my PCF? I'm painstakingly replacing them one by one. I'm no hare to begin with and this tortoise may never reach the finish line. :-)

Thanks.

You don't want to do this via the editor wjjz. That will take forever! I suggest opening your PCF file with a zip program such as WinRAR extracting the bitmaps folder and XML file. Next you'll want to replace all bitmaps in the extracted bitmaps folder with png files instead. Then add the entire contents of your extracted bitmaps folder (should be all png files at this point) back to your PCF file's bitmaps directory using WinRAR, choosing to overwrite all files when asked. Lastly, open the extracted copy of your XML file with Wordpad changing all ".bmp" entires with ".png" instead using the "Edit->Replace->Replace all ..." option, then adding that edited XML file back to your PCF file using WinRAR, again choosing to overwrite the original file. That's all there is to it. Hope you have not wasted too much time doing this in the editor. Working outside the editor as I've suggested here is the only way to go.

Lowpro, You Are The Man!

I can't believe I'm done. No blurry vision, achy fingers, or sore back. :-p It took me less than an hour following your "How-to-instructions" on converting bitmaps to PNG's in one's PCF. 1,296 all told. Best part, went from 44% to 58% free mg. Man, that's sweet!

I would donate memory to you if I could. Thank you again for your help.

p.s. The Mrs. and I saw "World Trade Center" tonight, a sad but terrific heroic film.

A 14% savings on memory sounds most excellent. :-) Every little bit helps. :-P I'm glad that my instructions were sufficient for you. Good job bud!

Thanks! I have to admit though, I scared myself a little when it worked. :-) Oh, for you number crunchers out there, 9,364 KB down to 6,678 KB, not that it means anything. The bottom line - free space! (no offense intended, LP) ;-)

There is a new link Peter as I just finished uploading a new file. Just hit up the link my signature area below to download and read up on my latest PCF. Enjoy!

For TSU7000 users, make certain to read the "Important Notes" section just below the download link as this is my first TSU7500 PCF! :-)

Seriously, congrats on your new toy!

p.s. Nice work on those new submenu pics.

Thanks wjjz. :-) Needless to say the TSU7500 has breathed new life into my PCF. As you can tell, I'm already enjoying that additional 16 megs. :-P The new RF extenders I have coming (RFX6500's) will be a welcome addition to my setup as well. My 6000's have been getting the job done, but they've never performed as crisply as I'd like. In fact, at times they can be downright sluggish.

Why the need for two RF extenders? Is there a limitation on the number of components that the extender can handle or are you just gearing up, knowing the great flood is coming? :-P (pairs, Noah's Ark, ... sorry)
