I'm ready to make the plung. I'm getting ready to buy A TSU3000 but before I do I need some information.

My scientific atlanta cable box doesn't have discrete codes. Will the Pronto be able to turn this on in a macro. I'm very new to this remote stuff so bare with me.

The whole MACRO,Discrete, Pass thru stuff is confusing.
In short will I be able to program the TSU 3000 for my mother-in-law to simply press a button that says watch HDTV and everything will come on even if something was already on.

I have
HDTV Samsung HLN617W
Reciever JVC RX-888V for now
HD cable box scientific atlanta explorer 3100hd
DVD JVC XV-S500
Playstaion 2
Lutron spacer system 4 zones 4 diferent scenes

If anything in here is a show stoper for the TSU3000 please let me know.

Thanks
Sam

Hello,

My 3000 and 7000 both worked with the Lutron Spacer system. I have some codes in my configs (3000 and 7000) in the files area, if you need them.

In response to Anthony's reply. The Scientific Atlanta boxes have no discrete On/Off codes. As a result, if don't want to leave the box on 100% of the time, you will to program for M-I-L, a Help-Screen macro page that prompts her with something like.

"Is the cable box on? Please look at the front of the cable box to see if the yellow digits are displayed. If digits are visible, press the 'Yes' button. If not, press 'No'."

For the 'No' button, you would add a 'Power' IR code to the action list to accomodate turning it on.
