I finally fiqured out after reading a lot of other threads that I needed the new pronto edit to download files. Well I did that and I downloaded Dave Nibecks file to the remote. Now when I connect the remote to my computer via usb the computer will not recongize the remote. What do I do? thanks

Okay I worked it out. I had to reboot twice. However I've got to say that this is the most un-user friendly item I have ever worked with. I am beside myself what to do. I even ordered the docking station, and now it looks like I have to spend a few more dollars on David Shaw's manuel. How much more dollars to I have to spend for this thing to work, when I really don't understand it in the first place?

Now I know why there are so many used ones on EBAY. Is someone out there able to offer any advice? Thanks

It's not David Shaw's manual. The author is Dave D'Arche.

With regard to $$$, your investment now is in time and patience in learning how to program the remote and working around any issues that come up.

Or, you can save yourself the headaches and never understand how to program the darned thing and simply hire it done. Search either the NG Forum or the Pronto Forum for folks requesting programming and see who has responded to those posts. Then email the programmer directly..
