Hello i have the pronto tsu7000 and a couple of x-10 dimmers in my basement, now i'm using a IR543 to take care of the ir to x-10 issue, the problem i'm having is due to the 210 levels of dimming that the x-10 dimmer can produce, it takes forever to get the light s dim down to level i'm looking for using a macro.

just to give you a little backround on what i'm doing is this.

i have a lutron grafic eye in my theater room to control those lights and in the hallway i have a x-10 3-way dimmer switch.

and what i have set up is when i go down to the basement i have motion sensor set up to bring the lights up in the theater room and in the hall way, and once the play button is hit on the tsu7000 for dvd playback my theater lights dim to cinema level and the hallway light do the same, if the movie is paused the theater lights come up to intermission level and so should the hallway lights.

the problem is like i was saying the hallway lights that are connected to the x-10 dimmer take forever to go up or down by just repeteing the x-10 dim command.

however what i did notice is when using the IR543 and holding down the dim button the lights go down very quickly. this is what i'm trying to reproduce via my pronto. but since i can find no hex code for the x-10 dim command, i thought if i could just repeat the hex code in the ir command it would simulate the constant holding of the button and dim the lights quick.

any insight would be great.

thank-you in advance

The 7000 inserts a slight pause between macro commands. Right now this is unavoidable. Someone else may chime in on a way to manipulate the hex code to make dimming faster, if possible.

The best way to do what you are looking for is to get scene capable switches. I would recommend SwitchLinc Plus and slave. Smarthome has both for about $80.

It has nothing to do with the 210 (theoretical) levels that the X-10 dimmers can handle. The IR543 cannot send the type of powerline command that is required for microdims but can only send standard 6% steps. If it's taking too long, it is in your programming.

The IR543 is deaf to further IR inputs while it is sending the command to the powerline. A standard 6% dim takes about 1/2 second. You need to pace your IR commands accordingly.

PS: The actual microsteps, as measured with a light meter, are closer to 165.
