I am editing a PCF in PPE (advanced mode) converted from a 9200 and I cannot move any of the groups that I create for number pads or navipads.

I use Cntrl+left click to select each individual button/element, and then select "group". A dotted line defines the border of the group, but when I attempt to move the group it will not stick to spot I wish to move it to. It snaps right back into the original spot like it is locked to the original spot.

I can move individual buttons, but not as a group. This behavior is replicated when I use Cntrl+A to select all objects and try to move all.

How is your grid set up? Are the blocks too far away to snap. I haven't tried messing with groups so just a guess. Try disabling snap-to-grid and see if it helps.

Hi JCL,
thanks for the response, but the snap-to-grid option is grayed out and not available. If I take any number of buttons and "Ctrl+click" a number of screen elements, group them, and then try to drag them to another spot, it pulls the group back to it original spot. But, If I use the up and down buttons on the cursor keypad, I can move the entire group in small increments. Subsequent to the movement with the cursor keys, the group can be moved with a mouse drag to a new destination and stay put. I repeated the same behavior with a number of PCFs from RC and they exhibit the same behavior. I do not know if this is a bug or a choice made by the programmers.

One other note, as you form a group made of more than 2 buttons/elements, you cannot hold the CTRL+left click for the first element highlighted. If you do the first element is duplicated. Has anybody else noted this behavior?

"Snap to Grid" will only be enabled if Grid is displayed. So, it looks like grid is not disabled. The problem is because of the way PPENG looks to handle multiple selection and groups. For normal buttons and panels, if any part is inside a page, we can drop it. But for multiple selection and group, unless the complete item is inside a page, drop is not allowed.

Hi Zombie,
thanks for the response. That does explain a couple of issues, but it does not explain when I define a group that is considerably smaller than the page (150x175) for instance for a num pad) and I am unable to initially drag and drop the group well within the boundaries of the page. If I move the group with the cursor keys I can subsequently drag and drop that group anywhere on the page.

Your input is appreciated.

It would seem that this problem is only related to PCFs with old frames (converted from CCFs) or PCFs downloaded from RC. If I build the groups from scratch with individual elements/buttons it never exhibits this behavior.

Yes Don,I have also seen the same behaviour with cursor keys. Cursor keys do not have any checks for boundary conditions.
