I noticed there was a special section in the sample "Ultimate Pronto Guide" about Yamaha. What's that all about?

I would just buy the book if before I bothered him about it. I just wanted to know if it was even possible to learn the sound fields. Everything else appeared to learn OK.

Freddy,

No, you can not learn them as they are all toggles. However, Yamaha produces the "short" IR Code on their web site, which allows you to build the code with IR Tool. Others have had success using the Yamaha Rav Remote software, to get the codes. I think it can be downloaded on the Yamaha page.

Easiest way is to grab my .pcf in the 7000 section, as I think it is the largest selection of discretes that I have put out. Otherwise, my older 3000 .pcf has many as well. You can just use these codes and paste them into buttons. No learning required. Hopefully they will work on your model. They come from the Rx-V3300 but have worked on many "similar year" models. The guide goes into great detail but you have to use IRTool to create your own discretes.

Good Luck!

Thanks Dave! Definately getting the book soon. I am a recent self-taught Pronto programmer(along with LOTS of guidance from the Forum -hats off to Daniel T.-) and I need some good reference material. Plus, you have sort of "sparked" my interest in leaping on to the next level and learning to edit codes by hand.
I know it will definately be a big leap!
