After downloading v3.1.15 and discovering that many IR macros stopped functioning, I've been forced to downgrade to v2.3.12. I know I'm not alone in experiencing major problems with the latest firmware, so which version is considered the best for stability/battery life?

Many thanks
Simon

I had many majors problems to with the latest version, but it is impossible to me to go back to the oldier version.
If, as you tell, so can do so, please tell me how to do?
I will glad to go back to this oldier version witch was bad but not horrible !!
Thanks.

It is possible and quite straight forward to downgrade your firmware. Last night I was asking the very same question as all the suggestions I read on this forum didn't work. See [Link: remotecentral.com]

What you need to do is this:
1) Run the latest NGUpdate program. This is the one that has updated our Pronto's with the buggy firmware 3.1.15
2) Unplug the USB cable when it has completed the clearing of the file section. You will need to keep an eye on the status to spot this, and may take more that one attempt.
3) Your Pronto should now be totally unresponsive! (don't panic! It has cleared it's file area)
4) Now run whichever firmware program you like and it won't complain about versions.

Obviously the above is done so at your own risk. I've not had any issues with is and just followed other peoples instructions [Link: remotecentral.com] , so my warning is just precautionary!

Hello Indiana Jones! you said:

Well, I have just tested this today and you do not have to disconnect the usb cable right away after it gets done clearing the file area of the remote. As long as you disconnect the usb cable from the remote before it finishes the install, you can still install whichever firmware version you want.

Just to reiterate, dont disconnect the usb cable till its done clearing the file area of the remote.
Also, I only have a TSU 3000 so im not sure if this would be disasterous with a 7000 or not. Anyone want to be adventurous like Indiana Jones and find out? :)
