having problems when downloading a lot of times i have to plug and unplug usb cable to get to take down loads also seems like the program crashs for no reason my partner has win98 anddoesnt have as many problems, i have xp and a compaq 2100 any ideas??

Luke,

Use the force. Search this forum and read up. There are many things that may contribute to the problem.

One thing you will want to make sure of is that you have XP Service Pack 1a that does indeed have some USB fixes.

I had download problems with my 7000 until other problems led me to upload firmware from the pronto site http://www.pronto.philips.com. That upload of the same verison firmware that my new 7000 came with seemed to fix download problems.
