We have an RU970 in an installation which has to control a Sony CD player CDP-XE270. This CD player does not come with it's own remote handset so we tried the various Sony codes in the pronto. One set works with most transport functions but not the track up & down and the number keypad. Has anyone out there got the codes for these functions in any form? Also, the same installation has a Sony tuner ST-SB920 supplied without remote handset. We only need the codes for the station presets, does anyone got them? Thanks, JohnR

Sony tuners use the same codes for station selection as Sony receivers. So, pretty much any standard Sony PCF should do it (but look towards older rather than newer models - you might want to try my STR-GA8ES setup).
CD player wise, once again all Sony CD players should use the same codes. You have a *huge* selection of PCF and CCF-based setups to try, alas I can't help you narrow it down any further.

Thanks for that. You can probably tell I'm new to the Pronto. I found some files which included the Sony tuner involved. However, I still can't see how to get the IR codes from a downloaded CCF file accross to the file I'm building. When I look in the window for a particular button's IR code there seems to be no info about the IR code, not even in the space provided for the hex codes. On a different note I'm beginning to think there's something odd with our RU970 because so many items wouldn't work witht the ready installed codes e.g. the items I already mentioned before & the Panasonic sky box wouldn't work from any of the panasonic codes sets so we had to use the learn facility - at least we had the original remote for that! We've hit another snag now, our customer has a plasma made by 'Vision'. We can't get the pronto to learn the on/off button. The original handset sends out different codes for that button but we've tried to learn them all by using more than one button on the pronto. Thanks again. JohnR
