With L&G NG software and 3000 firmware ... My Simulator lacks one key feature ... it does not send out IR commands when buttons are "clicked".

Is this "expected" behavior (or lack thereof) ? It visually shows the transmission, pages transistions are fine and the downloaded config works as expected on the 3000 itself.

It is a major debuging cycle pain-in-the-butt to not have the simulator ... well simulate.

Having seached the forums for clean answer with not satisfaction ...

Is the PENG Simulator supposed to send IR commands through the connected 3000 when sim buttons are "clicked"?

Thanks Peter for the decisive answer. I can stop searching.

I wonder why? Clearly the core functionality exists as one can “Test IR” when learning via PENG. I guess this is a wish list issue.

You could do it with the old Prontos, but it was very unreliable. The timings of macros especially delays behaved so differently. I suspect they decided not to do it for that reason. The "Test IR" function is quite different as it does not involve macros. Even then, a lot of people find that "Test IR" behaves differently.
