Recently, on a job, we discovered that the RF section of the TSU-3000/7000 would talk directly to an Intellicontrol MSU without the RFX6000 repeater. We thought this was a quirk, then last week, found that the TSU-3000 will also control the LG LSS-3200 DSS reciever over RF as well and works better than using the repeater. I was just wondering if anyone else had found similiar examples of devices where the 30000/7000 work directly over RF without the repeater.

You will hundreds of threads relating to RF devices being directly controlled by Prontos. This is more likely with the European models which use a different frequency. Search for "Dave Houston".

That the TSU3000 works better directly than using the repeater is an indication that the RFX6000/RX77 reception problems reported by others are the fault of the extender - probably a combination of a poor antenna and poor RF receiver.

Any RF device that uses the same carrier frequency and that uses ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) or OOK (On/Off Keying) modulation is a candidate for direct control. Unfortunately, there are few devices that use 418MHz ASK other than the various RF extenders.

Outside of North America, the 433.92MHz used by the Pronto/Marantz is also widely used for lights, appliances and other things.

Dave,

Your point is well taken and aknowledged regarding the hows and whys of the RF compatability. The purpose here was to compile a list of "tested", known devices which the 3000/7000 will talk directly to.
