Ok first just install the latest version of the firmware there is, yes I know this sounds weird so far so just bare with me. Ok during the reinstall of the latest firmware, just after it gets done clearing files from the remote, disconnect the usb cable from the remote! The install will fail and its almost like essentially formatting your Pronto remote. Than just intall whichever Firmware version you wish.
My appologies to the search critics if this has been suggested before, but I have done an extensive search and have not seen anything similar to this imo much easier solution.
