1. I need an IR code for a Sony DVD player to turn only off, and not be a copy of the power button-hence only one code for both on and off?

2. The same question for a Zenith HDTV Monitor tube, an only off code?

first, check the files section of remotecentral for the hex code, then copy and paste the raw code (if you are using PC software).
I you can only learn, I know that discrete on and offs are built in to the Sony RMAV 2100 or 3100. If all else fails on the DVD player you can use a
play command(usually includes a discreet ON) followed by a power on/off command. End result- off. For on, simply use the play button!

What you are looking for are called Discrete codes. I'm not sure about the zenith, but I know the sony DVD codes are in the file section for sure. Atually, here's the Sony DVD codes:

Power Off
0000 0067 0000 0015 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0211

Power On
0000 0067 0000 0015 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0211

Unfortunatly, the off code did not work. All five disc lights stayed on and disc number, and couple more lights, along with OFF flashing. In short, it doesn't work for mine it is a DVP-C600D. Thanks though!

Socceralex,

If you are trying to get a discrete on/off code for the "Dream" series home theater systems Sony is making... Sorry but the discrete codes on the files pages here do not work for them.

You can try to contact Sony for the codes. I have yet to do that, otherwise I have not yet found discretes for any of the toggle functions on these systems.

You need to give us the make and model number(s) of your devices!

Here's a pointer to the Zenith C32V37 HDTV 32" CRT TV that I posted in this forum a while back ...
