I am a new guy so sorry if this is a dumb question....if I update the firmware, will that wipe out all of the info I currently have stored on the remote? I have the info saved, but wanted to know if that would happen before I tried to update the firmware.

There's an option with the updater to preserve the currently-loaded data.
