When transmitting an RF signal does the Pronto Pro NG send a IR as well from the remote?

I don't believe so.

Easy way to find out. Turn off your RF extender and try the remote in the room with the kit to be controlled. Voila! Answer found :)

My guess is that it sends IR with no carrier.

Point it at a video camera.

I just tested, it does seem to actually shut IR off completely.

Each device is either IR or RF.

Offhand, I guess one could get cute and issue a few RF commands, then jump to an IR device and issue a few IR commands. I've never tried it.

You don't "jump" to a device to do mixed IR/RF. You simply link to buttons in another device.

This is with a TSU6000 but probably operates the same here -- I have a couple of systems in a home, using some of the same equipment in each system, where I use RF for one system and IR for the other. It is very straightforward to issue RF commands interspersed with IR commands. This allows separate control of the two systems as long as I am not in the closet with the RF system with the remote issuing RF AND IR -- then the IR is picked up by the wrong system.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
