Let's not forget to say something good, not only complain about our prontos. The new firmware is a major improvement for battery life and the display not coming on when not needed is great too!

That's all I wanted to say.

I must agree with you maik.
I had not been using my NG at all for months because of several issues including speed and the double press.
Now I have spent the last few weeks devoted to my NG, and have a PCF I am finally proud of and which controls my equipment "almost" exactly as I want.
IMHO we are now (at last) at the stage where the serious issues are resolved and future firmware and editor updates should be adding value and functionality, rather than repairing poor design / bugs...

OK, I certainly applaud Philips for releasing a color screen capable of 65k colors and reputedly 32mg memory (the 7000) -- these were the items I had been waiting for. So I bought one to replace my 6000. Unfortunately the current memory of the 7000 is a maximum of 16mg and seems to be little more useful than the 6000's 8mg. Sorry that I can't be happy with a product that currently cannot replace my 6000!

I purchaced my TSU3000 around May 2003. Everytime a new firmware was released, I immediately downloaded it to my TSU3000 only to be disappointed that some of the major problems that I was having were not resolved. Meanwhile, I've been using my old but reliable TS1000 remote. Finally, the latest version (April 2004) of the TSU3000 firmware resolved all the "show stoppers" for me. There are still some problems, such as some buttons requiring a longer than normal press (which in some cases were aided by adding the 0.l second delay workaround), my Somfy remote commands not yet working reliably via IR (but work okay with the RFX6000) and, most serious of all, the TSU3000 occassionally would "hang", requiring me to remove a battery and reinsert it in order to reboot the TSU3000. But, at least the latest firmware is good enough that I can use the TSU3000 on a regular basis, almost 11 months after I initially purchased it. Hopefully, Philips will continue to improve the quality of the firmware.
