I bought a RF Extender and TSU7000 from the US but only have one step down transformer, both power packs output the same is there any reason why I can't use one power pack, cut the wires from the other and have one power pack feed the RF extender and the docking station?

thanks

Just buy a new power pack. Only a few dollars.

Why not buy an AC/DC converter that works on your local voltage? Got to be cheaper than voltage converters. Just match the voltage, output (MA), plug and polarity.

And no, you can't split one like that.

Thanks, I don't know whether I have explained the problem clearly so I'll try again, I have bought a step down transformer 240 down to 120v it only has one US style socket, the RF extender and the Docking station come with identical power packs which go from 120v to 12v are you sure it is not possible to plug one power pack into the step down transformer and join the wires at the 12v end in series/parallel so that I end up with one power pack and two 12v plugs to feed the docking station and the RF extender

thanks

Should be OK to use one adapter to power the two, just check the mA required for the RF extender and docking station. If one adapter can supply the combined mA, you are fine.

You could also check the output voltage while charging the Pronto and powering the RF extender from one adapter to be sure the correct voltage is still being supplied.

That said it just as easy and much neater to purchase two 240V to 12V adapters locally and avoid step down converters etc. Other option would be to purchase a 120V multi socket extension cable in the US, $3.99-$4.99 for a 4 port extender in Home Depo, then you can just plug that into you down coverter and have enough sockets to plug in your two adapters and have a few spare 120V sockets left over.

Why bother with the step down transformer? It is much simpler to buy two 240V power packs that provide at least the ma of the U.S. ones.
