No matter what i set up in settings the background light stays up as long as the LCD.

Any ideas what i could try ?

I even tried to update the latest firmware without saving my old settings.

Adjust the light level setting towards the left.

Mine does the same thing. I have my Backlight Timeout set at 5 secs and the LCD timeout set at 40 secs. The light stays on for the 40 sec LCD timeout no matter what - Unless I set the Light Level all the way to the left. But at this setting the light does not come on automatically (when I tap the screen). I have to push the button on the side to turn it on.

So, basically the backlight timeout setting only applies when the light level setting is set all the way to the left (off position).

Is this the way the TSU3000 is suppose to work???

It should only work that way when the ambient light level is HIGHER than your setting.

I dont get it.

What is the use of that backlight timeout setting. Even if i take my pronto in to direct light the backgroung light stays on as long as the lcd. I have set it one point out of the left.

Im confused.

Your remotes seem to be operating as normal.

Try holding the remote under strong light or at a bright window when you are in the Settings section. You should be able to see the light sensor level changing (becomes a black bar on the control panel the stronger the light).

The only criticism I have of this mechanism is that is is a little under sensitive. In order words it needs quite a bright room to make the sensor reach the first notch on the control.

Yah i see it, but still i dont know what is the use to set time to background light to turn off.

Is it so that it only turns it off after spesific time, if theres light and you press that light button in left side on remote to force to light on?

I have the same problem. It basically makes the light adjustment useless. That is another are that the Pronto Team has to work on. Maybe more settings like they did with the contrast adjustment.

yes, don't forget the bar, tells the remote when you need light to see the screen. If the bl comes up automatically because the room is dark, then in theory you would need (want) it the whole time (you would not want to touch the screen because the bl is off and press a button you did not see because the screen was still active).

Now if you turn on the bl by pressing the button, then that is a special circumstance, and so the light is only temporarily on
