Hi all

I am a new memeber of this forum.
I am now the proud owner of a NU950 which I am very pleased with, I have got most of my AV equipment working with the new remote.
I would like to purchase the pronto guild that I have see advertised of this site and would like to know if any one can recommed it before I send for it???

Are you talking about Dave Archer's Ultimate Pronto Guide (I think that's what it's called)? If so, it's available at prontowizard.com. I just downloaded it this past weekend.

I bought the TSU3000 in Feb 2003 when it first came out. I found out about it on this excellent web site (remotecentral.com). Since it was my first Pronto I was a bit intimidated. After reading the problems other members of this forum were having with it, I decided not to tackle programming it at that time and to wait for the fixes. With the March 26/April 1 update I thought it was time.

I'm only in the middle of Track One in the guide (it's broken into three tracks, basically beginner, intermediate, and expert). So far it seems to be well written, except for the few typos and grammatical errors I've found. Though I havent' started programming my unit yet, I can see how it will be easier with this guide.

Good luck,

Kevin

P.S. I am not a shill. I'd be happy to e-mail my invoice for the 3000 last Feb and the guide this past weekend to prove it. :-)

Thanks Mate

No Invoice required

Like yourself I think this site is great but sometimes
too much information can be overwhelming.

After reading some of the threads on the site it almost put me off buying the 3000.

I will give the guild a try, so far I have been happy
with the remote as I said got every thing working but now would like to try a macro and fancy displays

Again thanks for your reply

Rich

You're very welcome.

I decided to start with the guide before I programmed anything. I'm one of those people that reads the manual before using something. Drives my wife nuts because she just wants to jump in.

One of the things that I wouldn't have thought of was setting up a screen for each device's IR codes rather than program the codes (or learn them) right into your warking screens. This way multiple screens can refer to them without the need to learn them each time you want to use them. Also, if you change a device you can just update the IR code screen and all the other working screens that use it can take advantage. (At least that's what I figure it's for, I just got up to that part in Track One.)

The guide is Great..

Don't be put off by negative comments you read here. People post here to have problems solved, and not to report that they have had no problems. There is bound to be a bias towards negativity.

Forum Administration,
RemoteCentral.com

Sir,

I most strongly object to the overtly lemonist overtones of the above toast err, post.

Lemons do no harm and are indeed good for society. They comfort one when one has a cold, cool one when one feels overly warm and flavours food wonderfully.

It is scurrilous and outrageous that in this day and age the fallacious association with inferiority is still perpetuated and propounded and do hereby call upon the above Anthony character to retract his totally unnecessary and uncalled for remark.

Shoddy goods are shoddy goods. Lemons are wonderful.

Including me. Yippee!

PS
An addendum detailing all the bugs, fixes and workarounds for the various versions of PE and firmware would be nice.

DJY - I am looking at a minor update, however my time is pretty limited lately. I am knee deep in another project. Time will tell..
