Are you all aware of a conpany at www.simplyautomate.co.uk who will supply a config file or preconfigured pronto ru950 which will operate x10 rf receivers directly, namely a Tm13u-ah? I am wondering if anyone has used this config and how good it is as they charge money for the file. Has anyone had experience of it or have something similar they have done themselves. I'm interested in it and buying the hardware at same time but think they are charging too much money for it.

There is no need to pay for the codes. CodeGen™ is a freeware application that will generate all of these and more.

You can even learn them directly as IR if you have a Powermid. See...

I saw them selling that information on their website the other day. I was searching for these X10 codes before Dave Houston kindly re-posted his excellent Codegen program (ta muchly), and I asked the owner of the site if he had any information on the X10 codes for the Pronto. Although I didn't buy my RU950 from him I DID buy all my X10 stuff from there. He refused to help, and said he didn't think X10 could be done without an IR converter. I KNEW he was wrong (and told him so), but he didn't care and was promoting his IR stuff to any other customer that needed a solution. When I saw him SELLING an otherwise free set of codes it put it all into perspective.

There are cheaper X10 suppliers out there in the UK, www.letsautomate.com for a start, and you can save enough to buy the base station as well if you get the RU950 from www.unbeatable.co.uk

Hope this helps.
