Just adding my "me too" to this thread.
I am based in the UK with a RU950.
I have been using the X10 IR codes which are available from this site since time began.
The DIM and BRIGHT codes are not working since I upgraded to the latest firmware.
I have noticed a difference between the 3000 and 950 when using ProntoEdit insofar as the code database for a 3000 pcf has X10 available whereas the 950 doesn't.
Cheers
Dave.

It turned out that Martin's problem with the RF codes was entirely related to delays in macros. All the individual commands worked OK.
Most X-10 receivers (both IR and RF) are deaf to additional inputs while transmitting to the powerline. Usually, this means you need about a 1/2 second delay between commands in macros.

It is look like they removes a gap between IR commands in a macro (and, conjointly, the gap between RF preamble and RF demodulated code). I can't test this now due I have no 950, but if it is true, it means the restoration of old Pronto timing strategy, lets rejoice!!!
First, it allowed (again!) the Long-Button-Press as [A] Code [A] Code [A] Code ....
Second, the trouble with devices that sensitive for this gap is solved easily: [A] Any-previous-code [D] 0.2s [A] Sony code It forces to inspect the macroses, but this sacrifice is defensible die the first possibility.
Third, the problem with x10 through RF is solved by inserting a gap to a command - instead of command 0000 006B 0000 000C 00A5 0096 002E 0105 008E 0096 002E 0105 002E 0105 008E 0096 008E 0096 002E 0105 008E 0096 008E 0096 002E 0105 01CA 0DF5 it is need to use 0000 006B 0001 000C 002e 0DF5 00A5 0096 002E 0105 008E 0096 002E 0105 002E 0105 008E 0096 008E 0096 002E 0105 008E 0096 008E 0096 002E 0105 01CA 0DF5 If it still not worked well, it wills a reason to increase the gap between command repeating parts: 0DF5 means 0.09s in this command, and it is too short for x10, IMHO. Lets use 3000 and more instead of 0DF5!
If it is really happen, the not so many things still need for me to be sure that I can control any device from NG: - The toggle capacities for 7000 codes - Possibility to inhibit IR code optimization in importing/learning (as possibility to overcome the misses of this optimization)

My X10 system is now working again following the help of the Pronto Development Team and Dave Houston - many thanks to both of them.
The problem was solved by changing the way in which I accessed the codes. Previously I used a number of links to join a map of my lighting system to a series of buttons for ON/OFF/DIM/BRIGHT which then linked to a further page which contained the relevant codes. I now have the codes pasted directly onto the buttons and have also removed an in-built delay (as I used to execute a macro consisting of, say, A1 ON - DELAY 0.5 - A1 DIM). I think the macro delay timing caused the problem, and this was somehow affected by the change in the Pronto's firmware. It was only my DIM/BRIGHT commands that were affected, my ON/OFF commands still worked, and it was only the DIM/BRIGHT commands that included the time-delay macro.
So if you remove the macro and paste the DIM/BRIGHT commands under the buttons they should still work. (Though it does mean that if you want to change the lighting intensity fo a specific X10 light you will have to manually select it first and then DIM/BRIGHT). A longer delay time in the macro might work though I haven't checked this yet. The normal codes generated (in my case by using Dave Houston's excellent CodeGen program) should still work.
Once again my thanks to Dave and the Pronto Development Team - the latter who have restored my faith in Phillips!

Martin:
I'm a bit confused by your fix here.
Example: on my 7000, I have a button that I want to use to dim a light. So I press that button, and under that button is a macro that links to say light 1, then dim, dim, dim, etc. (these codes are under different buttons on different pages)
It doesn't work. The light will only dim a tiny bit, much like the behavior you described in your earlier posts.
Are you saying the only way to make this work is to create a button with the IR codes themselves pasted in 12 times in a row under a button? (Which I assume one could then link to).
E.g.: instead of a macro that was like this:
-link to A1 -Link to dim -Link to dim... etc
it would be
-A1 -dim -dim -dim
Thanks in advance,
-P

Martin, Is there any chance of uploading your now working X10 config for me, I'm just starting my adventures with RF based X10. My address is [email protected] (an anti spam measure). Thanks in advance.

No I only have a single repeat. Keeping the button pressed causes the code to be transmitted over and over and hence causes the light to continuously dim.
My setup is now as follows: I have a page containing a map showing the layout of all my lights. Symbols/Numbers are used to represent the lights. When one of the symbols/numbers is pressed it jumps to a further page (one for each light) containing 4 buttons - ON, OFF, DIM, BRIGHT. I press ON followed by DIM/BRIGHT to control the light intensity. The codes (generated by CodeGen) are pasted into the IR code area directly for each button.
Note that teh Pronto appears to change the code format when you upload it back into a PC. So they become: DIM - 900B 006D 0000 0001 06F9 19E6 BRT - 900B 006D 0000 0001 06F9 11EE
You have to press ON before using DIM/BRIGHT so that it knows which light you are addressing. (Previously my macro automatically did this but that is now removed following the problems I had. I may try a longer delay if I get time and see if that works).
Hope this helps

Thanks for your input, Martin.
I actually have no problem manually dimming the lights by holding down the dim button. I wanted to put that in a macro (to have "scenes" run from the remote, basically). It worked on my old TSU1000, but doesn't work on the 7000 (and the 3000, presumably).
