Anybody can help me?

I live in Canada (Ontario) as well. I didn't ever find a store here that would sell them to me. I contacted Philips and asked them to provide contact information for a local dealer that would sell the Pronto and they told me it wasn't licensed for sale in Canada. I did see a local stereo shop selling the Marantz model but that was only for about 2 months and now they tell me they have never sold it (I saw it on the shelf myself!)
I ended up buying from eBay, got a TS1000 and it works great!

Randy I know this is possible, however I've heard horror stories of the exhorbiting costs of customs... so I'm not really comfortable ordering from he US. Although, if anybody has had successful experiences doing so, I would be very happy to hear them! Bruno

There must be, but don't know. In 99 when I looked I did not find any (but it was still new), and the prices on line where too competitive so I am ordering them from the US.
I know Dumoulin has the Yamaha (saw it in their flier a few months back), and I know some place else has the Marantz (but cannot remember where)

I order constanly from the US .. a close avg is take the price of the peice and multiply by 1.9 (exchg rate + fees..txs)to be at the door a tad high but safe ex. $100US would equal $195 CAD .. btw, I emailed bluedo for a quote on the Pro shipped to Canada never got an answer..

no - you cannot get Philips Pronto's (any model) in Canada. you can however get Marantz's equivalent units so that is one option.
i ordered my Pronto Pro from the US through Bruce at Alpha2Data - got the unit promptly and with no surprises - brand new and works perfectly. i paid around $650US and another $80Cdn for brokerage/shipping/etc costs.

Audio Centre in Montreal sells the Marantz, including the 9200. Kebecson on St-Denis Street in Montreal sells the Pronto (so far, only the B&W models) - not sure how they get them. I have ordered my Pronto from the US. The price was OK, but it was shipped via UPS which automatically charges outrageous duty fees. I'd recommend another shipping method (FedEx, ParcelPost, etc.).
Regards. Paul.

Matt,
I never received your email - when did you send it? All of the shipping prices for our products are available without having to enter any personal information first! Drop me a line to discuss.

well i guess you can get anything you want anywhere if you look hard enough - what i meant to say is that Philips does not have any authorized resellers in Canada (would love to know why).
this is why i went US. and at $1699 lol i am glad i did...

Matt. I don't think that was the original link. That was just one I found when I put "Pronto buy" and clicked "Canadian sites" in google.

Well, thanks to everyone!
I finally got a TSU-2000 in Montreal at Fillion Electronique (they had it also at AudiShop but it was more expensive).
Can't wait for the week-end so I can customize it! I'll be downloading stuff from this web site for sure. (I saw the games section - now that's a versatile remote...)
