I'm interested in buying a Philips 559701 and I heard a nasty rumor that on this set there are no discrete codes for selecting a particular video input mode -- you have to cycle through them. As a result, there is no way to guarantee that you end up in a particular input with the Pronto.
Please tell me I read incorrectly! --Mike

Mike,
I'm not positive but I think the 559701 is built around the same chasis as the Philips flagship model 64PH9905. I own the 9905 and can confirm that lack of discrete codes and the extreme frustration that results from the getting the Pronto to automate ANY video switching tasks.
Ironically, the Pronto is the remote included with the 9905.
I have had numerous discussions with Philips regarding this lack of functionality and they have confirmed that the codes do not exist and will likely not exist in future incarnations of this model/chassis—VERY DUMB in my opinion, but what do I know.
Hope this helps -- Steve
