I'm considering buying a pronto and was wondering if it would have enough memory to provide direct access to each disc of a 300 disc cd changer. I'm not concerned with having cover art just text links.

It seems that the RC5000i (2M) would be the best bet since it does not have the built in device list taking up a chunk of memory in the TSU2000. The other option is the waiting for the Pronto Pro which is expected to have 8M but with a color screen the memory usage will certainly not go as far. From the user comments I read in the past, without the graphics you shouldn't have a problem with even the TSU2000.

It might, but it would be tight fit, and you will have to give up on some things. Since the TSU2000 is not much more expensive (and depending where you buy it you might even find it cheaper) you are better off buying the new one. Plus the only originals left seam to be the RU890 (European version of TS1000).
