If you're considering spending the money for a Lexicon 700T, you'd be far better off in the long run going for a Crestron (or PHAST) system instead. The price for a starter system from Crestron is very comparable to the 700T, but is FAR more expandable. You also have the option of color (256 colors) screens.
Another option to consider, depending on what your concerns are with the Pronto, is to purchase a home automation controller, such as HomeVision. If the problems you're having relate to lack of discrete codes for devices, you can resolve them with a Pronto, HomeVision (look at
[Link: csi3.com]), and some Smartlinc probes to detect the state of your components. Crestron also sells some add on units to detect power states, but the HomeVision costs less than the number of Crestron units you would need for comparable inputs and gives you X-10 control (among other things) as a nice bonus. HomeVision is a very flexible product with some nifty features. For example, it has a built in sunset calculator so you can configure X-10 lights to come on at sunset (or some number of minutes before sunset).
In my case, I started with a Crestron system (before the Pronto was available), a HomeVision unit (mostly for the X-10 control), and a Pronto (it allowed me to get discrete power codes into the Crestron system).
As others suggested, post your reasons for being unhappy with the Pronto and there might be some no cost solutions. The Crestron system is great, but I might not have spent the money if the Pronto (and ProntoEdit) had been available at the time.
