I have just received a Pronto from Etronixs. The model they sent is RU 890/00, for $265. After two hours of frustration, I GIVE UP! I have a Sony VCR and a Quasar TV, and the Pronto will not "learn" any signal from them. Every button buzzes, "Fail". I believe I'm using the learn mode correctly, selecting matching buttons, correct distance separation, etc.
First question: what's the secret to getting this Pronto to learn a signal?
Second: did I get an old outdated Pronto model that should be returned for something else? I called Etronixs and they said if I can't get the Pronto to work, replace it with a Crisp #515. Yet I see on this site that there is a Crisp #616 now. Any help will be appreciated.

Are you pointing the remotes at the front of the Pronto? The sensor is on the back.
The FAQs & features here give lots of advice.

Yes, I'm using the rear sensor.
I've read the FAQ's - tried 12 inch distance, etc. but so far no luck with this unit.
