Daniel (or other advanced T1000 users):
Can the built in database of Phillips/Marantz IR codes be deleted (or partly deleted)-via the 75a9024024cd1 password to get access to it, and thus get more memory for the ccf (ie to then change the ccf maximum size in Pronto.ini to something above the default of 380)????

Thanks for the response. I realize it is on the PC, but if you delete the ir codes, can't you copy the smaller file back to pronto, and thus free up more memory???

The file is there for professional installers. It is meant as a repository for IR codes for devices, so that when you create a new CCF you can use the DB instead of learning. To the CCF any code coming from the DB looks like a learnt code.

RC5/6 codes reference a small on-board database that can't be removed or changed.

DRBH,
There is no way to increase the useable ccf space in a standard 1 megabyte Pronto or a standard 1 megabyte RC5000 without having access to the firmware.
In fact the biggest waste of space is not IR databases in the standard remotes it is a 192Kb allocation to the REVERT feature. This "feature" enables a user who has programmed a ccf with the PC to revert to the factory default Pronto configuration. Cool, except why would anyone want to do that!
The only people with the ability to make these changes are the developers - who are swamped with work trying to get the Color Pronto out on time while fixing bugs and making modest improvements to ProntoEdit and RC5000Setup. Since this work will result in new products and new profits, nice little improvements for existing Pronto owners and RC5000 owners comes at a slow pace. However, it does happen!
The wonderful thing about Philips and Marantz is that with each release, they have improved features for those of us who already own product and really won't buy anything else!
