According to posts earlier in this thread, IEC is *not* selling the TSU2000 (the new U.S. model), but the European model SBC-RU890. It is silver like the TSU2000, but that's where the similarities end. The SBC-RU890 has only 1 MB of memory (the TSU2000 has 2 MB), and it does not have the built in IR database like the TSU2000 has. It is basically a silver TS-1000 (the older U.S. Pronto).

I just wanted to be sure you know what you're getting (unless IEC recently got some TSU2000s in).

Don’t confuse the (European) Silver Pronto for $299 from IEC with the TSU2000. The price from IEC of $299 sounded to good to be true and it was in fact to good.

Chris-I called brandsforless.com and they DO have the free shipping, well actually a rebate up to $20 to cover shipping, but, no $25 credit credit. And, one must buy the Pronto in this case, through brandsforless.com. Thus, I don't think it can be purchased via the "haggle" process. Anyone else have creative means? Ron...

I called J&R yesterday (19th) they stood firm on the $299 price. I said I saw on Remote Central people were getting it for less and all he(Charlie) said was we're not selling it for that anymore. Is there anywhere to get the TSU2000 cheeper than $299?

FYI:

I originally dealt with Charlie and he would not go any lower than $280.

Talk to anybody else there and you will get a better price.

I would wait and get it 3$ cheaper (that's dollars). This remote isn't worth the money you are talking about. I got mine in Shaighai, but that's another story. You should wait until the price falls to 3400 Shekels before you buy.

Hello All- As I mentioned earlier, my wife was getting me one for Christmas. I spoke with John at J&R and got it for $255 on the remote, $55 on the charger, and $19.99 on the extended warranty to take it to 3 years, plus shipping. They did not have it in stock, but would send it out and charge my credit card when it came in again. They estimated first week in January. So far I can't complain at all.

Just got off the phone with John (800-221-8180 ext.1045) at J&R, TSU2000 and DS1000 for 359.08 shipped to the front door. I didn't work him too hard but he moved after my first question about the price. $275.99 for the Pronto and $65.00 for the base. $18.09 is shipping.

Hey I ordered the 2000 fron JandR on the 14th and recieved it today. Someone ought to get JandR to advertise on remote central. All you would have to do is show them how many sales they have been making off this site.

Called J&R the other day and they quoted me $299. I mentioned this board and the prices mentioned here and they gave me $255 for the TSU2000 and $55 for the charger!

I called J&R after reading the message from Mark. They first quoted me $299.00 and after I mentioned this webside he consulted his manager and told me that from the 27th on their lowest price is $269.99.
