This has been asked before and bad info was given out. It is indeed available through Philips' Parts.... There number is 1-800-292-6066 and the part # you are looking for is #310420050971. Hope that helps!

Have you tried Sunn Battery Company out of Florida. (904-354-4508) They carry a large assortment of various batteries including AA NIMH. I wonder why you couldn't use single AA NIMH batteries instead of the power pack with the charging base? I don't know if it would work so don't take my word for it but Sunn is worth a try.

Because the charging base uses special contacts to recharge.
I believe the battery as a spare part is about 75% of the cost of the whole recharge package.
