I want to give my parents a TSU-2000 for Christmas. The only problem I have is that their eye sight is very poor. Does anyone have a ccf or bitmap files with large, easy to read icons that that I can customize for them? Thanks.

i don't have anything specific for older
people but it should be easy to make your
own buttons and use the largest font you
can. you will not be able to get very many
buttons per page and it may be hard for them
to scroll. try to make it easy as simple and
use few buttons.

also take a look at the theater touch remote
it might be better for your parents.

good luck

I'd advise using buttons with large text rather than bitmaps.

I've found bitmaps hard to see in a darkened room, especially if they are not all that big. There is usually too much detail to make out.

Whereas, large white text on a black background provides the maximum contrast and is very easy to read.

I don't know how useful you will find it, but I remember that there is at least one CCF in this site's database of complete CCF's that says that it is intended for "old people".

Look at Mark Wilkinson's CCF. Also look at Kirk Moore's CCF for the Visually Impaired. (Located in the Complete System CCFs in the Files section.)

Just don't use a butterfly design. These have been known to cause confusion with the elderly.
