Hi everybody out there!
I still love my pronto, that's not the problem, but I have two problems with my vcr:
1. I am not able to store the 'cancel' command; it won't work, whether if I try it directly (without ProntoEdit or the Pronto attached to the PC) or in ProntoEdit with 'learn'. In both situations my Pronto (or ProntoEdit) beeps instantly after I sent the code and says 'fail'. Can anyone help me on this or send me the cancel command as file?
2. This ist not only a problem with my vcr, could touch other vcrs with the same system, too. I was wondering how to implement the ShowView functionality in my pronto ... on the original rc, there's a display. When I want to use ShowView, I have to press the SV-Button, enter the SV code (it shows on the display) and then, when I'm finished, send the whole thing to the vcr. Is there a chance to for my pronto, perhaps a hidden vcr based ShowView mode? Any help is appreciated.
By the way, I've done some updating work on my ccf, not really new features, but some macros and (jump) buttons to enhance the handling of the menus. I'll send it to Daniel this evening when I get home.
Regards Fermin

1) It could be the code is too long or is a sort of macro. I suppose you've tried increasing distance (2" -> 2'), new batteries in the VCRs remote etc? Do you have any other universal remote that could, perchance, learn this code?
Another things you might try, put a magazine between the two remotes and press the CANCEL button on the original remote. Then, get the pronto to "listen" for the code and remove the magazine while you are still pressing the CANCEL button. This worked for three Sony codes I was having trouble with.
2) I'm assuming ShowView displays the code on the VCR remote's display? If so, there's no way to implement this sort of function in the Pronto. It's simular to those remotes with he VCR+ LCD on them... the Pronto can't process user-inputted data to send off a formatted stream to the VCR.

Hi David!
Yes, I tried with new batteries in both RCs, and I also tested changing distances. I'll give the 'magazine trick' a try, thank you for that! This could work.
Yes, the SV code displays on the RC's display. I was hoping that the whole SV thing consists of header data, then the numbers submitted and a finishing data stream. This could be a possibility: First send the header code, then the numbers and the finishing data. Perhaps, if I can isolate that two parts of the stream, it could be possible to use SV ...
