Does anybody know the format of the Panasonic IR code? It's 48 bits and I'd like to be able to understand which ones are device code and which are function code as I'm trying to engineer some codes.

Hi Dmitry!
No, unfortunately, I don't (yet) understand that code. But I'd like to share informations about it with you, since I have a problem with a panasonic vcr (see my other posting in this group). I'll send you my informations as soon as I get to know something and would appreciate if you could share your knowledge with me, too.
Regards Fermin

Fermin,
unfortunately I'm unable to help you. I was only interested in the Panasonic IR code format because a good friend of mine has a bunch of Panasonic equipment (TV, LD, VCR) that he would've liked to have discrete power codes for. He has a Marantz learning remote, so he can't "engineer" the codes. I used my Pronto to do it and I was interested in breaking down the Panasonic IR code format. It seems that I had some luck as I was able to generate working codes for his TV. It seems that the function code is the first 12 bits of the last 16 in the 48-bit sequence.
