I bought my pronto in February (as soon as I ProntoEdit was released) It's been one of my best favorite toys because of the versatility. I still see and think of new ideas all the time. My question is why do I see everyone looking for CCF's for a component? The best thing to me was programing & designing it to fit mine and my girl friend's needs (who's tecnologicly declined). I' just intrested in others input?

Because there has been serious amounts of effort put into different areas by different people.

Lots of IR code hacking.

And some very tedious to build and clever graphical controls.

It's called team work.

Also, besides the specific IR codes someone might need, some people have lost their old remotes. I would just like to thank everyone who has sent in their CCF's so I could steal what idea's I liked. I download CCF's for IR codes I dont have, or for the graphics, like Daniels buttons, but I always customize for my own use.

One thing that has surprised me is that I haven't seen more people using some heavy graphics for their Pronto. Daniel, whoever did the star trek templates, and a few others of course have done great work with those ccf's. So I am not saying there aren't some really good ones out there because there are. I just thought as soon as we saw the pronto get more into the mainstream I would see some good artists design some "over the top" ccfs with varying graphics for each screen. I would try it but time is of course always a problem (as with everybody) and I can't even draw stick figures well :) I am sure the future will hold some interesting ccf's.

I agree. The ability to completely program the remote is whiy I bought it in the first place. I have used different buttons as starting places however.

The main reason I 'stole' Will Cunningham's RX-V2092 codes, 'cos it's saves a bit of time learning them all, and I know to a certain extent that they have been tested by Will. I learned all the other codes because I seem to have different equipment to everybody else!

I downloaded a few people's CCFs to see the bitmaps they use and the ideas they use. Over time, as I use my panels more and more, I come up with improvements in terms of usability. And apart from the channels bitmaps which I scanned in myself, I used bitmaps mainly (the black 3-d buttons) created by Daniel (Tonks).

But it'd probably take me a longer time to get to what I have now if I didn't read the forums and look at other CCFs, as they opened my eyes and mind to their artistic creativity (which I confess I don't have much).
