I am installing a system with keypads (and probably IR transmitters) in my house. I would like to use a 200 or 300 disk changer but (the Elan Z and similarly priced systems don't allow you to program a readable list of CDs and tracks in the multi disk changer. The VIA system will, but costs a lot and requires an Escient hookup to download the CD information.
My question is simple - can I load the CD data onto the remote and use it for direct CD/track access?
And for part 2 - Now I read that Kenwood (and soon others) have available a new product they call NetNamer. Can I download NetNamer info to Pronto and save trouble of loading all the data by hand?
from the Kenwood website:
We call it CDDB-enabled NetNamerTM. NetNamerTM with PCLink leverages the power of the Internet and CDDB2's CD title database to provide you with unheard of ease of use.
We've partnered with CDDB to bring you the world's easiest way to organize and input all your CD titling information into your CD-4700M or CD-425M CD changer (DPF-J6030 and CD-4260M are available in some countries outside of the USA). PCLink allows you to connect a cable from your CD changer to your PC, and CDDB-enabled NetNamerTM software downloads title information into the memory of your CD changer and computer.
