All -
I just spoke with a salesman at etronixs. They are saying that the Pronto TSU2000 will not be available until after the first of the year. However, a Tweeter store (HiFi Buys) salesman here in Atlanta said they were getting them in next Monday (12-4). Of course, they sell the TS-1000 Pronto at list price ($399) and etronixs sells it for $265. What gives? Does anyone know for sure when the new models will be generally available? In a previous thread about version 2.0 of prontoedit, it sounded like the poster, tandao, had already purchased a TSU2000, although he hasn't yet replied to my question concerning where he got it.
Also, the etronics salesman I spoke with told me that Tweeter had "screwed" everyone over by buying up the remaining TS-1000 inventory from Philips. He said etronixs currently only has the silver European model in stock (also for $265). I have heard conflicting reports about the validity of the warranty in the U.S. if you buy the European model. Does anyone know for sure if the warranty for this model is indeed valid in the U.S.?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
Tom

Etronixs is mistaken. The TSU2000 is due out now and Tweeter could very well be getting early next month. As far as Tweeter "screwing" everybody by buying up the remaining iventory, if Etronix could have done it, I am sure they would have. However, and please let me know if I am wrong Etronix, they are not an authorized dealer and have to find alternative methods of finding product i.e. the Silver Euro version.

I have spoken with Sound Advice in Ft Lauderdale and they say they have 10 TSU2000's that arrived Saturday. The price is $399 the same as the TSU1000 was.

I recently went to Bryn Mawr a local chain around here in PA( www.bmsv.com). They have dates in there computer that say the TSU2000 will be shipped to them in January.

FYI:
Bryn Mawr is Tweeter. Same company, different name. United Audio Video, former Dow A/V, and a few others are also all Tweeter.
So, check with your local Tweeter if you have one...

A Salesman at HiFi Buys (Tweeter store) told me that they did purchase a large number of the TS-1000 remotes and that they expect to receive the remotes around the 11th of December. They are selling them for $249.00.

Miles -
Thanks for the reply - my wife was told the same thing at HiFi Buys in Atlanta. She has one on reserve for me for when they come in on the 11th. Looks like I'll be having a fun Christmas.
Thanks for everyone's replies.....

Talked to etronixs today, they told me they have just received they hope good news. the new pronto model ts-2000 may be in stock within 2 weeks or sooner. the salesperson suggested I make a pre-order and they will not charge me unitil the units come in and they call with a price. - its worth a try!

What price did etronixs quote you on that TSU2000 preorder? Thanks.
