Will the Pronto learn a command from a Sony VHS remote that uses a wheel for FF and Rev? Sounds easy but, this Sony function is variable, meaning the more the wheel is turned, the faster the Rev or FF becomes.

Also, will the Pronto learn 2 commands together? I have a cable box and occasionally have to hit 2 buutons together to perform a function. Then, sometimes I have to tap a button, pause, then hit another button. Are there some BAD restrictions with a Pronto? Thanks all! Ron

The wheel on the Sony remote, if it's like Toshiba DVD players, will only send a few different codes.

(It's probably not analogue and will just have, say, five different speeds in each direction. Capturing them can be a bit of a pain since it's hard to be sure you've moved the wheel into the right area for the speed you're trying to capture, but maybe someone has already done this for you.)

Your remote which requires you to press two buttons at once probably doesn't send the codes for both buttons but rather sends a third, different code which the Pronto will capture fine.

(If it really does send two codes I don't know if the Pronto will capture it or not. I don't see why it wouldn't, but I'm no expert.)

As for having to press a button, pause and hit another, you could create a single button in the Pronto to do all that automatically.
