Hi

I am considering purchasing a Pronto while I am in the USA, but I am concerned about how difficult it will be to configure. I have a two Marantz A/V Amp's servicing different parts of my house, Marantz CD, Pioneer DVD, SHARP VCR, Teac TV (cheapy while saving for DLP Projector). All Australian models as I do live there, or thats what I keep telling my wife.

I have seen the great selection of configuration files built by others on this site. Can I easily copy one of these and change the IR codes to suite my components? If so, I am very keen to buy, if not I am worried I will never spend the time to learn how to code the Pronto so will not get the return for my money.

Also is it better for me to get the new TSU2000 or hunt around for the older model TSU1000(??) as I am not sure if there is much value for the difference?

Thanks in advance, Mark

PS- Great site I can't believe how much information there is here!

Yes, you can copy some other CCF and override the codes one by one by learning each button one at a time.

It's not really that difficult to program it, just time consuming. But as you get familar with it, it's actually quite fun to customize it as you please

As for the TSU2000, the preset codes and extra memory is nice. But most people haven't run into memory limits yet and the preset codes may save you some time, but the current deals on the TS1000 are too good to pass it up (The TSU2000 will probably go for much closer to its $400 USD list price)
