I have a Toshiba TN55X81. I keep trying to understand the previous threads that have been written but am having a tough time...
Does this discrete code issue mean that the Pronto will NOT be able to learn to do things like turn my TV on/off, change channels, etc? or does it just mean that I can't do a "change input directly to component video"?
I really like the looks/sounds of the Pronto, but if it can't work my TV (which I'm stuck with)...

This means that there are not separate codes for ON and OFF with Toshiba devices. You just have a power on/off toggle.
That means if you create a macro for Pronto where one of the steps is "Turn on TV", but the TV is already on, it will turn the TV off.
You can still control the Toshiba with a Pronto, you just can't fine-tune the macros like you can with other manufacturers.
