I'm having trouble with pronto reproducing RC-5x codes. I have tried both entering them and learning them with no luck. Can anyone help. An email would be greatly appreciated. -keith [email protected]

Keith,
They are difficult to learn. In my experience, using a short tap or a rapid series of taps will result in a code that appears as a "C Learned" command rather than an RC5x code; however, that code might work. When it learns it as an RC5x code the Pronto frequently gets it wrong. If you type in the RC5x code it WILL Work. There are just too many combinations to just generate codes and try them out however, since Rc5 extention havw three variables (system, data and command)generating thousands of possibilities. If you learn an RC5x code that works your component, try using the same System and Data settings, and change the command entry to generate new codes. It is so time consuming to do this (I spent 4 hours trying to get two codes for a Marantz VCR), that I really recommend that you try to learn them the other way.
One other tip: Don't try to learn codes with the Pronto connected to the PC. Create some empty buttons, download to Pronto, learn and test IR commands, upload to PC.

Do you have discreet on off for a Marantz DVD player? I have a DV-4000.
