I have read some of the threads about dimming the lights and even adjusting the ceiling fans. I am new the the RC5000 but already love it. I am interested in creating macros to do both these things. I have wall rheostats on both the lights and fans. What hardware do I need to accomplish this task?

Thanks for your help!

X10 Hardware is the least expensive way to accomplish this. Radioshack and many, many internet sites sell this.

Here's the official x10 site:

If you would like a cleaner, more reliable solution try the Lutron Graphic Eye:

Sorry, I forgot to mention the new Lutron Spacer series of IR controlled dimmers.

Also, the big difference between X10 and Lutron is reliability under load, built in scene selection with both Lutron products (Spacer and Graphic Eye) and far more robust communications between your RC5000 and the IR dimmer (X10 products communicate via an IR to Powerline translator).
