Our esteemed cable service here in Pittsburgh (once TCI, now AT&T) brings the signal into your house with two coax cables. Clever, huh?

As a new Pronto owner, I figured there must be an IR A/B switch I could use. I hunted one down at PartsExpress (www.partsexpress.com) and ordered it. It arrived today:
Company: JVI (no further idendification other than "Made in Taiwan)
Model: AB-2
Remote: RAB-88

Of course the remote has an On/Off toggle and an A/B toggle. *sigh* My question is: does anyone have the discrete codes for this? (All right, stop laughing, if I don't ask, nobody can say yes.) If not, how can I determine if there are discrete codes and what they are?

If the toggle codes are any help, I can send a CCF with them; or maybe post them here.

Thanx in advance.

OK. First, I think the company which made this device is JVI in Florida (www.jviparts.com). I'm contacting them to see if they have more information.

The Toggle codes are: (these have been verified to work from the Pronto)
On/Off:
0000 006d 0018 0000 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0510 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010

A/B:
0000 006d 0018 0000 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0530 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0010

From my whole day's worth of study, I decipher this as a 38kHz carrier with 24 Burst Pairs sent one time when the button is pushed. First item of interest is that the second half of BP 12 has 0500 (dec 1280) added to it. Second, the only difference between the two codes are BPs 11,12,23, and 24. Third, BPs 13-24 are duplicates of BPs 1-12 (ignoring the 0500 added), except for BP 24 of the A/B code. Fourth, all BPs are 0010 0030 or its reverse (ignoring the 0500 again), except for BP 24 of the A/B code.

Questions I have: is this PWM or bi-phase? I lean toward the former, but that may just be my ignorance. Why does the 2nd 1/2 of BP 12 have 0500 added? Synchronization? Why does BP 24 of the A/B code violate the either/or pattern?

Does anyone with more IR Decoding experience have some clues for me?

Thanx!
