My remote was programmed by the salesman who no longer works there. How is the best way to find out what the macro steps do?

I use VBA in excel and step through the macros; is there something like this with the RC5000?

Have you installed the RC Setup software on your PC yet?

Yes I have & am beginning to fumble my way through that. That is where I am looking at some of the macro lines. However, is there somewhere that tells me what those lines of code do? Some are obvious & some are not.

are you looking for information on reprograming the remote or are you looking for someone to do it for you? I program them for customers and I can understand the situation you are in. Let me know what you are looking to do.

Ryan, thanks for your response. I think at this point I would like to try my hand at it. But, I'm sure you can understand that I might end up in utter frustration and just throw up my hands. When that happens, I will probably send you a message to seek to engage you to bail me out.

Stay tuned.

Ray, there is a new manual for RC5000 Setup that goes into detail on what a macro is and how to program them. You might also look at the new User manual for the RC5000i, which has some more fundamental information on when you should use a macro vs. when you should program a list of steps.
